    Great toy!
My just-turned six-year-old opened the package and played with it for four hours! His one-year-old little brother also loves the count down and take off.

    Great idea, bad design
You got to give them credit for the level of detail. It is awesome and makes it worth the price. It's just to bad they did not put as much thought into the design. I bought is for my 4 year old. I takes everything I got to take it about and put back together. A screw together rather than snake would have been ideal. The thing goes to pieces everytime we take about the different stages. However, over all a very cool toy that my some loves.

    Cool Toy
My son is 4 and loves astronauts. He thinks this is a great toy but wants me to play it with him. I think the rocket is a little difficult for a 4 year old to assemble and the concept of the rocket breaking into stages is slighly bewildering. He always wants me to play it with him. (...)

      Expensive But Good
This is an awesome boat! It planes in a matter of time. The Carribean Cruiser itself is a very good boat. The one problem is that it is so expensive. (...) It also came with the expensive charger and batteries too! This is a great boat but buy it somewhere else.

      Save your Money
This boat is fun and fast, but not for the money. Traxxas Makes a boat that is just as fast. You can EASILY upgrade it and it performs better. For instance it whips around so fast you can barely see it do it. I put a trinity 7-turn D5 in mine and it does around 50 mph.

      awesome high performance boat
this boat rocks and it hydroplanes in like 2 meters and goes 25 mph. No joke. that is fast!!! very manuverable performs like a nitro. and is low maintanence unlike a nitro highly recommend for a person who is tired of speeds of 12 mph or someone who has not even run a boat.

They get points for not messing it up
This is a really nice toy. Very detailed, very nice quality, although it screams "we made the Darth Vader TIE instead of the normal TIE like everyone wants because the wings make it easier to stock in Wal-Mart". As noted elsewhere, they FAIL to give you the figure for the ship. Pffffth!

not as good as the first time
this toys is a reproduction of Darth Vader's battle dammaged tie fighter from the death star playset in action fleet from a few years ago. However, all the action fleet repro's don't come with the 1-inch poseable figures they originally came with, which is a let-down, but the vehicles are still cool.

Why oh why apply damage and so much burnt marks?
I must say these action fleet toys are of exceptional quality. The sculpt is good, the paint job is as good. However I think they should've omitted the damaged look on this particular toy (TIE prototype). I understand they wanted to give it the "used" look but I think they overdone it on the TIE and M.Falcon. It didn't need so many black spots especially the Falcon, man it looked like it went thru the sun. The only action fleet toy that came out perfect was their X-Wing.

          Thomas & Friends Diesel 10
          Made by Learning Curve
          Age Group: 36 months - 7 years
            Amazon base price: $14.99
Good is always balanced with evil, and in the case of the movie Thomas and the Magic Railroad, Diesel 10 is a truly icky bad guy. Teamed with sidekicks Splatter and Dodge, Diesel 10 is a renegade engine on the Island of Sodor out to destroy the harmony of Sir Topham Hatt's Railway. To intensify this train's nastiness, Diesel 10--on a scale of 1 to 10--is rated 10 for devious deeds and brutal strength. Measuring 4.25 inches long, Diesel 10 has two sets of wheels that swivel, helping this extra-long train negotiate the tracks. Equipped with a mischievous expression, Diesel 10 is pea green and--just like in the movie--has a claw-like arm on top to help create havoc. As with all Thomas the Tank Engine Learning Curve products, Diesel 10 is made of hard maple and has two magnets on each end to allow your child to expand their set. --Diane Tuman

            Diesel's Claw is pretty cool
Diesel 10 was introduced in Thomas and the Magic Railroad and his claw goes backwards and fowards. It's fun to have him chase Thomas and Lady along the Track. He can also pull coaches and cars. He is good with Splatter, Dodge, and Lady. All the Thomas trains are very durable and they work perfectly.

No reviews found for this product.
            Claw is disappointing
The claw is the main attraction of Diesel 10. In this toy it only slides forward and back - there is no up or down movement and the claw jaws do not open and close. This is a huge drawback because that's why the kids love Diesel 10. My 3 year old plays with it, but not to the extent he would be if it could do more. Remember, this toy is only a few inches long. It fit the track system, but I think my son would have been happier with a different character - it was VERY anticlimactic to have a non-functioning claw.

            Diesel 10's Pinchy is disappointing
The kids were excited to get Diesel 10, but Pinchy only slides back and forth. In Thomas and the Magic Railroad movie, Pinchy moves up and down and opens and closes. It would not be safe for a toy to open and close to actually "pinch," but it should move more realistically. I am surprised, however, that the kids have not cracked off Pinchy (though it is slightly bent), since it doesn't move up and down, so it is quite durable.

            Mega Truck
            Made by Mega Bloks
            Age Group: 12 months - 5 years
              Amazon base price: $24.99
You can almost hear the rumble of the construction site. Ambitious young construction workers have got to have good (and fun) equipment, and they can't do much better than this rugged, giant dump truck filled with Mega Bloks. The 1-foot-wide-by-over-1.5-foot-long plastic dumper comes with dozens of Maxi Mega Bloks in its hauling bed (the biggest, easiest-to-handle block in the Mega Blok line). A smiling, 3-inch-high driver, complete with green coveralls and a bright yellow hardhat, drives along on tough 5-inch-high plastic wheels, and the bed on this rig tips back and dumps. Once the quitting whistle blows, a fully articulated, front-mounted crane can help with the cleanup. --Paul Hughes

              excellent toy
We bought this for our one year old son, he is now three. He plays with it all the time. Very durable, it looks like we just bought it. He puts everything in it and pushes it around. I highly reccommend this toy well worth the money spent.

              Beware of chipping paint!!!
We recieved this as a 1st birthday gift for our son, who is still going throught the teething/chewing on everything stage. I must say after he played with the little man that is in the truck I was horrified to see his mouth full of yellow paint. It seems the hard hat on the little man is painted and not colored plastic. And it all peels off if it is put in the mouth. My son does love the toy and plays with it all the time, just not the man that goes with it!

              My son loves it!!
We got this for our son for Christmas last year (he just turned 1). He plays with this everyday! He loves running around and pushing the truck everywhere and especially loves dumping all of the pieces out! The only complaint I have is the latch for the dump bucket. It's hard for him to get it unlatched himself so he can dump the blocks, and that really upsets him. Other than that it's a great toy!!!!!

                Disappointed
I purchased this toy based on the excellent reviews it had here at Amazon, it looked also like a fun toy with educational value. I am very disappointed. For starters, my son finds it very frustrating that the front pieces for eyes, face & hat can only go on in one order. He also has trouble pulling the pieces apart once they are together, and he is very dextrous for his age. Also disappointing is the lack of container to store all the pieces in. Without this, the blocks are loose in my son's toybox and we can never find all the pieces. The packaging could easily be redesigned to hold the pieces. All in all, it is not a toy he can sit and play with without assistance, as I had thought it might be. When he does play with it he enjoys it for about 15 minutes and moves on to something else. We could have done without this toy under our Christmas tree.

                Electric problems
We got this for our son for his second birthday. He loved it but we had problems right away that it didn't recognize when it was the dump truck or fire engine like it was suppose to and would just go off for no reason. Of course we had an awful time trying to sneak it away from our son. We went to the store to get another and the one they had didn't work either. Buy at your own risk.

                awesome truck!
My son got Timmy for his 2nd birtday and has not stopped taking it apart and putting it together. This was a great gift for him.

                  Nice to have
The trailer seems pretty durable much like the wagon it goes with. Assembly was pretty easy but you definately need a hammer to help wack things in place. It's large enough for my 3 year old to ride in comfortably. I don't know that I would put a baby carrier in it although I didn't try. The one thing I don't particularly like is that it seems to take a lot of muscle to get it on and off. Although over time, I believe it will get easier as it wears down. I've had to sit on it, kick it, push, shove and wack to get the trailer on and off the hitch. Even though it's difficult to get on and off, it won't keep me from using it.

                  good idea but.......
good idea that you can pull extra stuff(especially for the people who love swap meets like me) so you children dont have to be squashed with stuff. but it is too much money it should be like $20 or less.

                  good addition to the wagon
i loved my step two wagon set the only problem i had was that i had no where to put the diaper bag and all the other stuff children require except on there feed and that is why this trailor works perfect for me i can haul diaperbags small coolers and a toy or two in it or haul an extra child .

                    Not Worth It ! ! !
I have this game and it is pretty good shooter game but doesn't have any action. The words are blurry so you can't see the text. It has good graphics but the gameplay lacks action and it doesn't hook you on to it to keep you playing it. The weapons are pretty cool but overall the game is worth 2 stars. :)

Not the prettiest shooter, but so what? It's a blast!
With many PlayStation-owning shooter fans singing the praises of Einhander and R-Type Delta, this one has sort of been lost in the shuffle. That's a shame, because G Darius has lots to offer both hardcore and casual fans of the genre.

I fear that, since almost all of your foes in this game are robot aquatic creatures (sharks, crabs, sea horses, etc.), some people may dismiss it as "silly". In fact there is nothing silly or stupid about it. It's a fast-paced side-scroller with intensity to spare, and it boasts some of the most hectic bullet-dodging mayhem you'll ever encounter.

Your spacecraft has two weapons which are fired simultaneously: the standard, straightforward gun (horizontal) and grenades (vertical), both of which can be upgraded by snatching orbs from defeated enemies. What makes the game unique is the capture ball, a weapon you can launch at your foes to turn them into your sidekicks. They'll follow you loyally and attack whenever you fire, like the "options" in the Gradius series. There are quite a few different enemies you can do this to, and all of them have unique offensive capabilities. Some fire a very basic shot; some fire a "spread" shot; some hurl themselves at the opposition, causing damage by brazenly crashing into them at high speeds.

Speaking of speed, G Darius rips along at a pretty brisk pace, although the stages themselves are of satisfactory length. Minor slowdown sometimes occurs when you're doing battle with a boss and it launches about 100 bullets in your direction at once. In those rare cases, the slowdown is actually a blessing in disguise, because it affects everything on the screen, not just you.

Yes indeed, the screen can get mighty cluttered at times, but never to a hopelessly overwhelming degree. Unlike some shooters where staying alive is a strictly academic process of trial and error and moving into the right spot at the right time (cough, R-TYPES, cough), G Darius never "punishes" the player for an unwise maneuver by condemning him/her to an instant death. If your reflexes are sharp enough and you never release the rapid fire button, there is always at least a fashion model-slim chance that you'll be able to blast your way out of an extremely sticky situation and emerge victorious by the skin of your teeth. Your shields can be powered up much like your weapons can, a fact that brings new meaning to the term "life-saver".

Mind you, you can do more than dodge and peck away at the opposition to elude destruction at the hands (well, fins anyway) of a big, bullying barracuda or a cluster of kamikaze catfish. Foes bound to your service by the capture ball can be detonated if you want to take out any surrounding adversaries (or if you just plain get sick of having the stupid beasts follow you around). Even better, you can use them to power up your Alpha Beam, a weapon that will easily cut a swathe of carnage through standard enemies and lay some serious pain on the bosses as well. Don't start thinking you're omnipotent, though; each boss has a similar weapon (imaginitively titled the Beta Beam) and when yours meets theirs head-on, a struggle for supremacy ensues, with both beams growing in size and power until A) the duration of the beam expires, B) the battle concludes, or C) the entire screen gets filled by a glorious outpouring of blazing destruction originating from one side or the other.

The graphics here may not be terribly impressive but they get the job done. The designs of the enemies sometimes leave a bit to be desired (there's only so much you can do to make robotic fish look exciting, y'know?). The backgrounds are the game's strongest visual point, with some cool animation telling miniature stories while you're fighting for your life. There's one stage where a planet in the distance is doomed to be destroyed every time you play. Poor planet. My favorite stage has the ruins of a human city floating around; check out your ship's reflection in the mirrored windows of a skyscraper torn from its foundation, silently drifting through space.

The soundtrack has some forgettable fare with a 16-bit feel, but a few tracks are really striking. There's one (in the stage I just described) that can only be described as sounding "spacy" which is devoid of percussion and is so laid-back, it makes the on-screen chaos seem like some bizarre new age therapy. The final battle music is suitably catchy and adrenalized...you can also hear it when you first load the game, before pressing start, but obviously it won't have the same impact. And the "game over" tune is...dare I say it...beautiful! It almost makes it pleasant to end the game prematurely.

At the end of each stage, you'll have to choose between two adjacent stages to move on to. There are fifteen stages in all, and you'll have to beat five of them to win the game. Plus, each stage splits into an upper route and a lower route at the half-way point, and the boss will use different attacks against you depending on which route you take. Therefore, you'll have to play through the game quite a few times before you can truthfully say that you've seen it all. This, plus nine difficulty settings and the ability to adjust your reserve lives, credits, and capture balls makes for very high replay value for shooter fans of all skill levels.

If you still enjoy 2-D shooters, either passionately or casually, I cannot recommend this game enough, as long as you're prepared to PLAY it rather than just look at it. Whatever it lacks in graphic intensity, it more than makes up for with the IMPORTANT kind of intensity, and that's in the gameplay department. I've had this game for several years and I can't imagine it growing tiresome anytime soon.

                    Good game for money.
This is a good game for the money when you compare it to Gradius III & IV for the PS2. I like this game because you can sit down and play very quickly. It doesn't take long to learn what to do or to get started. You can take different paths through the game to mix things up and there is a vs. Boss option that allows you to just fight the bosses. It is a pretty simple side shooter, but it keeps me coming back because it's fun to play.

Instead of buying Gradius III & IV for PS2 (if you have one), you could buy this and another game for the same money. G Darius is much better than Gradius III & IV even though it was created for the PS1.

P.S. if you can't find it - try Funcoland

Just Don't throw away the box!
Our two boys loved the race track and cars the first day. Then one car broke and shortly after the second one broke as well. My husband and I threw away the box and could not find replacment cars or parts anywhere! The track has held up, however the race cars are not durable at all and not worth the money and hassle.

                      fun but fragile!
Life-Like's racing sets are really fun and work much better then some my kids have used in the past. Unless you set up a permanant, solid table to MOUNT the track on, the track is going to break. This stuff is so fragile it's almost worth buying two kits just to replace the parts.

                      Racing game review
Bought this for grandkids to play with when they visit. Husband enjoys it the most (he is a NASCAR nut and is turning the grandkids into NASCAR nuts, too). They spend hours, but we had to move it from the table to the floor, the cars tend to fly off in the curves (especially with grandkids not knowing the power of kinetic energy). They love it and play with it for hours. Good quality time spent--grandfather with grandkids....
